Nepal’s Mountains Beckon: One Million Tourists Flock to the Himalayas in 2023!

Students Group Volunteering in Nepal

Nepal’s mountains are calling again! After suffering under the weight of the pandemic, Nepal’s tourism industry is back in business with a bang! They hit a major milestone – welcoming over one million tourists in 2023, the highest number since 2019!

This exciting comeback can be credited in part to our friendly neighbors in India, who topped the charts with 30% of total arrivals. In fact, Indian tourism jumped a whopping 70% compared to 2022! Not just India, but tourists from across the globe, including the USA and China, have rediscovered the magic of the Himalayas.

Mr. Maniraj Lamichhane, the head of Nepal’s Tourism Board, is thrilled with this achievement. He credits it to effective marketing and the reopening of airports in Pokhara and Bhairahawa. He also acknowledges the impact of international conflicts on tourism, but highlights that Nepal exceeded its target despite the challenges.

So, are you ready to join the million who discovered Nepal’s magic? Head over to Real Journey Nepal’s website and let us craft your own unforgettable adventure in the Land of the Himalayas! Remember, Nepal’s doors are open again, and the mountains are calling your name! ️
