Our sojourns begin in ancient Kathmandu as we view a heady mix of traditions & culture that baffle the senses as we go sightseeing down Kathmandu’s cobblestone streets that’s a literal feast for the eyes as we come across busy market souks that sell modern wares by following ancient practices that include opening & closing of shops through superstitious beliefs that go back hundreds of years in time. Our tour takes us into ancient monuments that symbolize an era of feuding kings where conspiracy & tragedy were the order of the day. Some of the monuments we visit are UNESCO declared World Heritage sites where the echoes of history still live on in its medieval corridors as we view the delicately designed architecture so intricately worked creating artworks that are a connoisseur’s delight. Katmandu is great confluence of the ancient that tries so hard to blend with the contemporary in this city of the gods & abundant temples where the cows roam as free as the wind blows.

Our tour extends itself to the beautiful lake city of Pokhara where we visit most of the prime tourist spots that include David’s fall & a Tibetan refugee center. We also go up to the fantastic viewpoint of Sarangkot where a delightful sunrise stuns your senses & gives you awesome views of some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the world. Our tour in this junction for some of the most challenging expeditions in the world also includes some enjoyable boating on Pokhara’s famous Fewa Lake, a serene clean water lake that’s known throughout the world for its surrounding landscapes. Some of the world’s best extreme activities that include paragliding, a zip flyer, & Avia microlight flights all have their base in this lovely lake city.

Our thrilling tour concludes with some adrenaline gushing whitewater rafting on one of the sweetest rivers in Nepal & the world…the Trisuli River, where you can even raft all the way to the Chitwan National Park for a scintillating wildlife tour that will give you an exotic experience of a lifetime. We can do our rafting on the way to the Park or on our way back. Your put in point can even take you to point near the Park where a vehicle will be on standby to drive you for a short time right into the park itself. Your tour of a lifetime will conclude with a complimentary farewell Nepalese dinner at one of Kathmandu’s famous eateries where, while enjoying your meal, you will be entertained to a fascinating cultural dance performed by the local belles.


You will be picked up at the airport by one of the Real Journey Nepal staff and driven to your Kathmandu host family or a hotel. Here you will be welcomed into the family, be given your own room and be provided with all your meals while in Kathmandu. This will be your home during your orientation and volunteering in Nepal. With easy bus routes into town and the surrounding countryside, this quiet and safe suburb is the perfect base for your time in Nepal. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

The Boudhanath and Pashupatinath Day Tour is a journey into the spiritual heart of Kathmandu, Nepal's capital city. This cultural and religious adventure takes you to two of the most sacred and revered sites in Nepal, offering a profound and enriching experience.

Boudhanath: The Stupa of Compassion

Your day begins with a visit to Boudhanath, one of the largest stupas in Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you approach the stupa, you'll be captivated by its massive dome and the watchful eyes of the all-seeing Buddha painted on its pinnacle. The stupa is a center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal and a hub of spiritual activity.


1. Circumambulation: Join the devout pilgrims as they perform the kora (circumambulation) around the stupa. Walk clockwise, turning prayer wheels, and spin prayer flags to offer your prayers and good wishes.

2. Boudhanath Monasteries: Explore the monasteries surrounding the stupa, where you can witness Buddhist monks and nuns in their daily rituals. Some monasteries may allow you to participate in meditation sessions.

Pashupatinath: The Abode of Lord Shiva

In the afternoon, your tour takes you to the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the holiest Hindu temples in the world. The temple complex is dedicated to Lord Shiva and attracts thousands of devotees and pilgrims every day.


1. Pashupatinath Temple: Explore the main temple area and its intricate pagoda-style architecture. While non-Hindus are not allowed inside the main temple, you can observe the rituals and ceremonies from outside.

2. Aryaghat: Witness the sacred cremation ghats along the Bagmati River, where Hindus perform the last rites of their loved ones. The ritualistic ceremonies provide insight into Hindu funeral traditions.

Mid-Morning: Trisuli River Rafting

Your fourth day in Nepal promises an immersive exploration of Chitwan National Park, a pristine wilderness teeming with exotic wildlife and lush vegetation. Today's itinerary includes morning canoeing and an exhilarating jungle safari in a jeep.

Start your day with a serene morning canoe ride along the Rapti River. Mid-Morning: Jungle Walk

Following canoeing, embark on a guided jungle walk. Today, you'll embark on a picturesque journey from Chitwan to Pokhara, one of Nepal's most stunning and tranquil destinations. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to explore the natural and cultural wonders of Pokhara.

Morning: Departure from Chitwan to Pokhara

After breakfast, bid farewell to Chitwan and begin your scenic drive to Pokhara. As you traverse the winding roads, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountains, including the iconic Annapurna and Machapuchare peaks. The journey itself is a highlight, with opportunities to stop at viewpoints for photos and to stretch your legs in charming villages along the way.

Lunch: Pokhara Arrival

Arrive in Pokhara in time for a leisurely lunch at one of the city's delightful restaurants, which often offer serene lakeside views.

Afternoon: Pokhara Sightseeing

In the afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Pokhara, a city known for its serene lakes and majestic mountains.

1. Phewa Lake: Start your exploration with a relaxing boat ride on Phewa Lake, where you can enjoy the serene waters and take in the reflection of the Annapurna Range on the lake's surface.

2. Visit Barahi Temple: Located on an island in Phewa Lake, the Barahi Temple is a sacred Hindu shrine. Explore the temple and enjoy panoramic views of Pokhara from this unique vantage point.

Evening: Lakeside Stroll and Dinner

After sightseeing, take a leisurely stroll along the lakeside promenade. The area is dotted with cafes, restaurants, and shops, making it a perfect place to relax and shop for souvenirs. Enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the many restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, including local and international dishes.

Overnight Stay: Return to your hotel in Pokhara for a well-deserved rest, as tomorrow you'll continue exploring the beauty of this charming city.

Day 6 introduces you to the enchanting landscapes of Pokhara and its serene lakeside ambiance. Tomorrow, you'll have the option to engage in adventure activities or opt for a more relaxed exploration of the area.

We spend a full day exploring Pokhara. After breakfast, we make a full day sightseeing of in Pokhara. Enjoy walking along the bank of Phewa Lake, admiring the stunning reflection of the Fish Tail Peak in the blue Phewa Lake waters. We also take a boat around the Phewa Lake which is the second biggest lake of Nepal. We take the boat across the lake and take an hour’s walk to the World Peace Pagoda. We also make a short visit to the Gupteshwar Gufa Cave (also called Shiva Gufa). Some of the other places that we visit today include the Seti River Gorge, Devi’s Fall and the mountain museum etc. Overnight stay in Pokhara. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

We transfer to the tourist bus station and 06: 30 am drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus. This scenic drive offers fascinating glimpses of rural Nepal as you pass through Middle Hill scenery along the famous rafting Trishuli River originated from Tibet northeast of Kathmandu. Overnight stay in Kathmandu. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today! A Real Journey Nepal representative will drop us off at the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way to home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
