Combining the Everest Base Camp Trek and a Volunteering program is the ultimate way to immerse yourself into this amazing, mystical culture.
Spend two weeks working with the Volunteer Society of Nepal in Kathmandu, one of the premier volunteer organisations in Nepal, who have been receiving foreign volunteers since 2004.
The society will place you with one of their trained homestay families whose homes have been vetted and are volunteer ready. Solo female volunteers are common in our program and we ensure that all females volunteers are placed with other females. The privacy and wellbeing of all our volunteers is a primary focus of the organisation.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu our representatives will collect you and bring you to your homestay. We will provide a "soft landing" by providing for you an orientation program in which you will learn about the culture, dos and don'ts, how to move around and costs of common goods.
You will also spend two hours of each of your first three days learning basic survival Nepali language to make your stay in Nepal more enjoyable and fruitful.
We will also take you on guided tours of UNESCO World Heritage Sites the Hindu Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (monkey temple) and Patan Square.
You can choose whether you volunteer or trek first and we will arrange that with you during the booking process.
We welcome groups of volunteers and happy to give group discounts and for specialist charity organisations wanting to partner up for a wonderful cultural exchange!
